Santa’s Repair Shop began with Christmas memories from our childhood in the 1950s and 60s. A few years ago Yvonne ran across a color wheel and aluminum tree. After fifty years in service, they were rough. Really rough. Most people would have trashed them. But somehow we couldn’t bear to see them go. Yvonne lovingly repaired the damaged limbs. Her work came out beautifully. I wasn’t so lucky. I used my electrical background to try to repair the color wheel motor. That didn’t work. I had several more false starts, Finally, I succeeded. I like to say anyone can do this. All you need is fifty years of experience, a drill press, and a shop full of tools.

That first tree was a long time ago. We soon found that friends had trees and wheels that they wanted repaired. They would bring us yard sale finds in need of love. Soon we had trees and wheels all over the house. Yvonne sharpened her internet skills. We began to buy and sell a few. Today we ship color wheels and trees all over the world. We are proud to be a part of keeping this wonderful Christmas tradition alive. And you know what? We still wish we could keep them all!
