This unit has been modified to work with a brand new motor, which runs quietly and smoothly.
In original condition, these units normally do not run on a motor. The heat of the light turns the round covered lens. This modification adds extended life to the unit and safety. The motor has a two year warranty, with proof of purchase.
Why you should buy our Color Wheel
The majority of the Color Wheels being sold online were manufactured during the 50’s and 60’s. Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages of buying a color wheel with its original motor.
1. The motor makes a grinding sound or humming sound signaling, that its reaching the end of its lifespan.
2. The motor turns intermittently or sporadically, another indication that its nearing failure. Can also cause melting of the lens, which can be difficult to replace.
3. The shaft is beginning to loosen, possibly causing the lens to melt. Eventually the shaft breaks off.
Please note that oiling the motor will not correct any of the problems listed above.
